Page five: Still not listening
Annie Felis:
The Pseudo Angel
June 9, 2003
Infrequent updates are what I excel at! Actually I've been working on other things, although
I would love to draw Kefkaroth every week. Maybe eventually I will, who knows? But for
now, the sporratic updates will continue.
As you may have guessed, there is no real art theme here. I will be inking the comic this way
from now on, but the way it's colored...well, that will vary. I tried my hand at tones, and
I will probably use them off and on, but there are other mediums I will use. If I had enough
markers, I'd use markers (unless it's in grays, I have plenty of those). I'll probably do
quite a few pages in tones like this, a few in the gray shading like page 4, the occasional
full-color CG, some pages in pencil, some pages in ink, and probably more than a few in
prismacolor pencils. Don't ask for watercolor, though. It's not that I suck with watercolor,
it's just that I draw the comic on cheap-O printer paper, and that kind wrinkles very VERY
easily when wet.
I also noticed that I've been drawing a few things wrong, now that I've been playing though
FF9 again. First off, Kuja's sleeves aren't right. He has purple and gold cuffs under the
big poofy white sleeves he has. His jacket is much different than I've been drawing it too.
The thing is, I've been going off fanart, since the only official Kuja pic I have is in the FF9
artbook, and that's the one done by Amano. As lovely as that picture is, it isn't really
how Kuja looks in the game. The only thing that I did on purpose is made his hair longer,
because well...he's older now. Madt, however, needs a change. I thought that only the
adult Burmecians had pointy ears (Madt is still 16), but I was wrong. All Burmecian kids,
even the little rugrat variety have pointy ears that are fairly un-ratlike in nature. So,
Madt will suddenly have pointy ears on the next page. As for Kuja's costume, I'll either
gradually modify it over time, or just have him change his clothes fairly soon.
I added another affiliate, if you want to take a look. Emme has a pretty cool comic that
is drawn entirely digitally (first on oekaki, then in photoshop), and it looks cool as hell.
I recommend taking a look.
Must go have beer now. See ya.
