Kefkaroth
The "hero" of the story, although it's obvious that he used to be the villain. His real name is "Kuja", although nobody seems to catch on to that, nor do they find him horribly threatening. He's not too sure what's going on and why he's alive yet, but hey, at least he isn't dead and naked anymore.

Madt
A young Burmecian girl with pigtails and not a whole lot of brains. She's the one who found Kuja at the bottom of the Iifa tree, but she won't believe that Kuja is anything but as sweet and good-natured as she is (or that he is even Kuja) ...so she calls him "Kefkaroth" and follows him around.
